Computer Science Tuition Fees by Country 2026

Compare 2026 Computer Science and closely related computing tuition references across major study destinations. The calculator uses official university or public-system figures for international or non-local students where a defensible 2026 amount is available, while the comparison table explains when a figure is national, institutional, annualized or only a planning range.

Choose an official 2026 tuition reference, then add any separate mandatory university fees shown on your own offer or invoice. The tool keeps each destination in its published local currency instead of using a temporary exchange rate.

Computer Science Tuition Fees by Country in 2026

Computer Science does not have one reliable global price per country. In some systems, public tuition is set nationally or by student status; in others, the university and programme determine the amount. The table therefore uses official 2026/27 figures that are clearly labelled as national public rates, university programme rates, technology-category rates or planning ranges rather than presenting them as national averages.

New ZealandUniversity of Auckland BSc majoring in Computer ScienceNZ$47,221-NZ$58,009 BSc international range [S21][S22]The Computer Science major sits within the BSc. The university publishes a BSc range rather than one CS-only annual figure, so New Zealand is not hard-coded in the calculator.

Why the Same Degree Can Cost Very Different Amounts

Public-system pricing can be far below institutional pricing

France publishes a 2026/27 differentiated public Bachelor’s registration fee of €2,902 for many non-EU students, while UCL lists £46,700 for an overseas Computer Science BSc entrant. These are different funding systems, not two estimates of the same market price. [S8] [S4]

Student status can change the fee route

Several European systems distinguish EU/EEA or equivalent students from third-country students. France, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Austria, Germany and Norway all illustrate why citizenship, residence status or an exemption can materially change the billed tuition. The comparison uses the international or non-local reference most useful for cross-border planning and states the status behind it.

Some universities publish tuition only

UNSW’s A$61,000 2026 international first-year figure is explicitly tuition only. By contrast, Toronto Scarborough separately publishes C$2,271 in required incidental and ancillary fees. The calculator therefore asks for separate mandatory university fees instead of assuming every destination bundles them the same way. [S15] [S3]

First-year cash can exceed recurring tuition

The University of Aizu lists ¥520,800 annual tuition but also a ¥564,000 admission fee for students who do not qualify for the Fukushima resident rate. One-time admission and enrolment charges can make the first year materially more expensive than later years even when annual tuition is stable. [S16]

Low Published Tuition Does Not Always Mean a Low Final Bill

A low public tuition figure may exclude student-union charges, application fees, admission fees, health-related charges or programme-specific costs. TU Wien charges third-country students €726.72 per semester but requires the ÖH fee in addition. TUM lists a separate semester fee alongside international tuition. Spain’s UC3M states that administrative fees, school insurance and a new-student record-opening fee are added to the 60-credit enrolment amount. [S13] [S7] [S20]

For broader fee research, the tuition fees section can be used alongside this country comparison. Always compare the university’s current offer letter with the reference here before paying.

Sticker Tuition, Scholarships and Net Tuition Are Different Numbers

Scholarships should not be silently deducted from a published tuition figure. KAIST lists annual undergraduate tuition of ₩6,866,000 in its cost-of-attendance table, then separately shows a KAIST Scholarship covering the tuition for four years once admitted. The table keeps the sticker amount visible and explains the scholarship instead of presenting a zero-fee result as though it were the published tuition. [S17]

The same principle applies to waivers and subsidised fee categories elsewhere. France allows specified exemptions, TUM publishes waiver routes for some third-country students, and fee liability at Nordic universities depends on citizenship or exemption status. A student’s net tuition can therefore be lower than the comparison reference without making the official reference incorrect.

How to Compare Computer Science Offers Across Countries

Match the fee status

Compare international with international, or EU/EEA with EU/EEA. Mixing subsidised domestic rates with full international rates creates a misleading country comparison.

Separate recurring and one-time charges

Annual tuition should be kept separate from admission, application, student-service and record-opening fees. Add one-time charges only to the year in which they are actually due.

Check how the programme bills

A university may quote per semester, per credit, per academic year or for an entire degree. The table labels the basis and annualizes only when the official source makes the period clear.

Currency note: The calculator intentionally does not convert currencies. Exchange rates can change daily, while the tuition figures are fixed or published in local currency. This avoids turning a stable 2026 tuition reference into an exchange-rate snapshot that quickly becomes outdated.

Methodology

This comparison was checked on August 9, 2026. It prioritises official government, university, admissions and registrar sources. For a “by country” title, coverage was expanded across North America, Europe, Asia and Oceania rather than stopping after a few easy-to-source destinations.

Included costs: the table reports official tuition, enrolment or student-total-fee figures when that is how the source publishes the charge. Separate mandatory university charges are shown when the source clearly identifies them. The calculator itself stores tuition-only reference amounts where a defensible single annual figure can be constructed and asks the user to enter separate mandatory university fees from their own offer.

Calculator formula: first-year tuition cash = selected official annual tuition reference + user-entered mandatory university fees. The formula is identical to the JavaScript calculation. An explicit zero is accepted for the mandatory-fee input; an empty field is treated as missing and does not calculate.

Period conversions: TUM tuition is annualized from €3,000 per semester to €6,000 for two semesters. TU Wien is annualized from €726.72 per semester to €1,453.44. Warsaw University of Technology is annualized from €5,520 per semester to €11,040. CTU FIT’s CZK 64,000 first-semester amount is doubled to CZK 128,000 for the annual calculator reference. KTH’s SEK 423,000 full three-year programme tuition is divided evenly by three to create a SEK 141,000 annual comparison equivalent; KTH itself publishes the full-program amount. [S6] [S13] [S19] [S18] [S9]

Planning ranges: when an official source does not provide one defensible CS-specific annual number, the page keeps a range or descriptive entry in the editorial table rather than forcing a calculator preset. New Zealand is handled this way because the University of Auckland publishes a 2026 international BSc range of NZ$47,221 to NZ$58,009 while Computer Science is one of the BSc majors. [S21] [S22]

Excluded costs: living costs, housing, refundable deposits, travel, visa expenses, proof-of-funds requirements, books, personal equipment and exchange-rate conversion are outside this tuition calculator. Refundable deposits are not treated as consumed tuition. Application fees are also excluded from the calculator unless the user deliberately includes a university-billed mandatory charge in the second input.

Official requirement versus real spending: a published tuition figure is an institutional charge, not a forecast of the student’s complete annual spending. Scholarships, exemptions, course choices, credit load and later-year fee changes may alter the amount actually paid.

Coverage limit: important destinations were not forced into the hard-coded calculator when a clean 2026 undergraduate Computer Science amount could not be reduced to one defensible figure. For example, NUS Computing’s 2026 admissions FAQ provides a recently published Computing fee reference but explicitly warns that the upcoming academic-year fee may change; that provisional range is therefore not treated as a fixed 2026 calculator constant.
